Last year, one of my co-workers lost her niece, Sierra, to Meningitis. She was a college student at the University of Northern Colorado. Their family recently began a fund called Sierra's Race against Meningitis. This fund raises money to provide free Meningitis vacinations to high school and college students. Last weekend, Meghan, Jim and I ran in their first fund raiser race. I finished 7th in the 30-39 men's group. Meghan finished 8th in the 20-29 women's group. There were over 830 runners and walkers that crossed the finishline. Jonathan and Aiden participated in the 2-5 yo. kids run. They began their race by having all of the kids release pink balloons in remembrance of Sierra.
