Yesterday I experienced my worst nightmare. I was changing Jonathan's diaper (he was sick) so he had a diaper on. And when I looked at Preston he was blue, not from the boys coloring on him, but the can't breath, no air in my lungs, blue. I swiped his mouth and felt nothing. I asked Jonathan if Aiden (who was standing right next to Preston) put anything in Preston's mouth and Jonathan said "yes mommy Aiden put something in Preston's mouth" Of course I did not listen because I had a son who was not breathing. So in my mind something else must be wrong. I looked out the window and saw that our neighbor, Mark, was home. I turned Preston over and started hitting his back, he then started breathing. I ran down the stairs and across the street, not telling the boys where I had gone, just freaking out. Mark took Preston made sure he was breathing well enough that we didn't need to call 911. I then called Chad and we walked back over to my home. The boys were in the freezer helping themselves to waffles, Jonathan was going to fix he and Aiden some lunch. Chad finally called back and we decided to take Preston to the doctor's. Preston at this point was still struggling for air, and coughing up clear stuff with a little blood in it. Mark then told me that he would take the boys and I should get to the doctor's as fast as possible. So during rush hour in Denver as my son was continuously choking I made it to the doctor's in about 15 min (a miracle). Now I was half expecting Preston to not preform for them and that he would be fine and we would just go home, if you are a parent you know what I am talking about. But that was not the case. I calmly walked up to the front desk to the pediatric department and told them that my son was choking and I need to see someone now. As the receptionist went back to get a nurse Preston stooped breathing again. I went nuts. Yelling for help they rushed to me and took Preston. They started sucking out his nose and mouth. This went on for about one hour. During that time Chad had come to help. They finally wanted to see if he would nurse, he refused, not like him at all. He again started to choke and the nurse was sucking out his mouth while I had flipped him over and was hitting his back. After a few minutes the nurse said "Oh my God" and picked up a black plastic thing. (that is what is in the picture). Aiden had put something in his mouth and he was trying to get it out. Thank God he is well and doing fine. I then nursed him and he fell asleep. We went home and found the plastic container that our face paint for Halloween was broken up in the loft. That was the most stressful moments of my life. Thank God and Preston's guardian angel that the plastic thing didn't go down any further and that it worked its way out.
It is amazing how you take life for granted when you have healthy children. You let your temper get to you, you might forget to tell them you love them. Life is a blessing!!

So glad he's okay. I don't think I could've been that calm.
Oh my gosh... talk about not breathing! I couldn't breathe the whole time I was reading that! I'm soooo glad he's alright - way to be on your toes!
